Software Updates
PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE DOWNLOADING SOFTWARE!!!!
We have found problems with the newest FTDI USB-to-serial driver (1.0.2176.0). If you have this driver and use it to install any .abt file, you will not be able to complete the installation and your iScan will be in a useless state until you can install an .abt file with the driver we have available below or a serial-to-serial connection. We are attempting to get this corrected in the next driver version, but we would like to provide a solution for this problem now. If you revert to the previous version driver there are no issues.
Note: The driver is only for FTDI chipset based adapters. Users who do not know what brand chip is driving their adapter should not attempt to download and install the driver as unpredictable results will occur.

iScan VP50PRO 1.02 Software (December 31, 2007) Thank you for your interest in the iScan VP50PRO 1.02 software. This software applies to iScan VP50PRO models only, and must not be loaded into HD, HD+, VP20, VP30 or VP50 units.
This version (v1.02) contains the following new features:
Added RGB Gain and Offset Controls
Gain is a control that specifically addresses color imbalances in the bright areas of the image. Calibrators will use the iScan-generated test patterns to determine if the white areas contain traces of red, green or blue and properly decrease the "Gain" for any offending primary. Offset is a control the specifically addresses color imbalances in the dark areas of the image. Calibrators will use the iScan-generated test patterns to determine if the gray areas contain traces of red, green or blue and properly decrease the "Offset" for any offending primary. Both Gain and Offset are controls that address issues related to grayscale and gamma.
Support for HD-SDI Dual Input Module
This version supports the HD-SDI Dual Input Module. Selection of the two SDI inputs is accomplished via the OSD, the remote control (via toggle) or discrete IR or serial automation.
Progressive Cadence Detection On/Off
This version supports the ability to turn Progressive Cadence Detection On and Off. Progressive Cadence Detection is beneficial when the input frame rate and output frame rate are different. For example, if the input frame rate is 60Hz and the content is film-based (24fps) and the output frame rate is set to 24Hz (or a multiple of 24) than this feature should be set to on.
Extended Range on all Picture Controls
Previously the range on the Picture Controls (both Input and Output) was limited to a -50 to +50 range. This range has been extended to -100 to +100 for all respective Picture Controls. In the case of Fine Detail and Edge Enhancement the range was doubled allowing the user access to twice the amount of adjustment (overall range). All other Picture Controls benefit from smaller step size so that calibrations can be more precise.
Save/Restore Settings
The settings in the iScan VP50PRO can now be extracted and rewritten so that with future updates, settings can be retained.
New Info Screen
The Info Screen has been improved. Additional information that can now be found in the info screen are the selected deinterlacing mode, the chosen parameters for Mosquito Noise Reduction, Fine Detail and Edge Enhancement , the selected Viewing Mode, Trigger settings, and the chosen Display Profile.
Added Discrete Commands for 1080p-24 and 1080p-25 Output Timings
Previously Discrete commands where unavailable for these output options.
- Auto Display Profile No Longer Causes Issues
- Losing Audio Output Assignment After Power Loss
- Losing Audio Input Assignment After Power Loss
- Corrected Field Swap Issue with 576i Signals on Component Inputs
- RGBHV Input Did Not Detect 480p Component after detecting VGA
