1. How do I reset my iScan HD/HD+ to the factory default settings?
There are two ways to reset your iScan HD/HD+ to the factory default settings. The default output resolution is 480p and the default output type is analog component video. Resetting your iScan can be useful if you lose your picture during the initial setup and quickly want to get back to default settings or if your iScan HD/HD+ does not boot correctly and displays an error (‘ERR’) message. Please take note of your output and picture control settings before resetting your iScan.
To perform a hard reset of your iScan HD/HD+ using the remote control follow these instructions:
- Press the ‘Configuration’ button on the remote until the front panel display (FPD) reads ‘FCTD’
- Press ‘Enter’. The FPD will read ‘NO’
- Press the up arrow button. The FPD will read ‘YES’
- Press ‘Enter’. The iScan will reboot to its factory default and the FPD will confirm this reset by displaying ‘DVDO’
To perform a hard reset of your iScan HD/HD+ using the buttons on the front panel follow these instructions
- Unplug the power cord from the back of your iScan
- Press the ‘Enter/Exit’ and ‘On/Remote Standby’ buttons simultaneously while plugging the power back in. The iScan will reboot to its factory default and the FPD will confirm this reset by displaying ‘DVDO’
2. What should I do if the Front Panel Display (FPD) of my iScan HD/HD+ is showing an error (‘ERR’) message?
If your iScan HD/HD+ is displaying an error message try unplugging the power from the back of the iScan and then plugging it back in. If the error message still appears, follow the instructions above to reset your iScan HD/HD+ to the factory default settings. If you still get an error message after performing a hard reset, please contact our Technical Support department for assistance.

3. What should I do if the picture is green when I use the analog output of my iScan HD/HD+?
A green picture usually means that a component video signal is being sent to the RGBHV input of a display. This happens often when a High Definition component signal is sent to the iScan HD/HD+, and the output of the iScan is being sent the RGBHV input of a display. If the display only has an RGBHV input available, an HD compatible transcoder will be needed to convert the HD component signal to RGBHV. If you have no HD component signals then the iScan is set to the wrong colorspace in the ‘Output Setup’ menu. To correct this follow these instructions:
- Press the ‘Output Setup’ button on the remote control until you see ‘COLR’ on the front panel display (FPD).
- Press the ‘Enter’ button. The FPD should read ‘YUV’.
- Press the down arrow button and the FPD should read ‘RGB’
If this does not correct your issue or if your iScan was already set to ‘RGB’ output please call our Technical Support department for assistance.

4. Why am I getting a blue screen when I send a High Definition (720p/1080i) component signal to my iScan HD/HD+ unit, and connect the iScan to the DVI/HDMI input of my display?
The iScan HD/HD+ component inputs are designed to pass HD signals through to the analog output. This signal will not be digitized to come out of the DVI output. If you have a DVI or HDMI output on the HD source, it should be connected to the iScan’s DVI input. If the HD source does not have a DVI/HDMI output, then you will need to use the analog output of the iScan and a component breakout cable to connect your iScan to your display. This cable is available directly from us on our website as well as through our resellers.
5. Why is the blue ‘On/Remote Standby’ LED blinking on the front panel of my iScan HD+?
The ‘On/Remote Standby’ LED on the iScan HD+ will blink green if the iScan is passing an HDCP-encrypted DVI input signal through to a display that is not HDCP-compliant (DVI or Analog). Use component connections from your source(s) to your iScan HD+ to eliminate this issue.
6. Why is the green ‘On/Remote Standby’ LED blinking on the front panel of my iScan HD+?
The 'On/Remote Standby' LED on the iScan HD+ will blink green if the iScan is passing an HDCP-encrypted DVI input signal through to a display that is not HDCP-compliant (DVI or Analog). Use component connections from your source(s) to your iScan HD+ to eliminate this issue.
7. Can I turn off the ‘On/Remote Standby’ LED on the front panel of my iScan HD/HD+?
The ‘On/Remote Standby’ LED can be set up such that it will turn off after 30 seconds after detecting an input signal or turned off completely. In the ‘Configuration’ menu, set the ‘Power LED’ parameter to ‘Auto’ if you would like the LED to turn off after 30 seconds or ‘Off’ if you would like to turn it off completely.
8. How do I know what software version my iScan HD/HD+ has?
To verify which software version your iScan HD/HD+ currently has press the ‘Info’ button on the remote control. The iScan will show a status window on your display with the input and output signal information. At the bottom of this window you will see the software version that is currently loaded. For example, 2.02-5.6- 2.32 means that your iScan HD+ has version 2.32 software loaded.
9. How do I update the software in my iScan HD/HD+?
To update the software in your iScan HD/HD+ follow the instructions on this page if you are using a PC with a serial connection:
Software Updates for the iScan HD/HD+
Or, this page if you are using a PC with a USB connection:
Software Updates for the iScan HD/HD+ (USB connection)
10. Will I lose the settings on my iScan HD/HD+ if I update the software?
Currently, the iScan HD/HD+ will lose its settings when a major software update is performed. Please take note of your output settings before updating your software.
