ABT1030
![]()
The ABT1030 is Anchor Bay’s latest addition to the Video Reference Series™ (VRS™) family of video processing chips. It is ideally suited for standard definition deinterlacing and scaling applications in DVD players/recorders, up-converting set-top-boxes, and AV Receivers. The ABT1030 features Anchor Bay’s 10-bit Precision Deinterlacing™ which provides arbitrary cadence detection five-field motion and edge-adaptive deinterlacing and a flicker-free picture. Another feature, 10-bit Precision Video Scaling™, scales an image while preserving image detail for outstanding picture quality on today’s high resolution displays. The ABT1030 also features Progressive Re-Processing (PReP®), a breakthrough technology that improves the poor picture quality caused by other deinterlacers. The ABT1030 supports HDMI 1.3 Deep Color with 12-bit input and output resolutions.
General Features
- PReP® – Progressive ReProcessing
- Standard Definition Precision Deinterlacing
- Precision Video Scaling for up-conversion to 1080p
- Pass-through mode for all formats
- CEA-861D compliant timing
- HDMI 1.3 Deep Color and xvYCC colorimetry
PReP®
- Unique patent-pending technology to improve previously deinterlaced 480p and 576p formats by recovering original 480i, 576i formats for processing with Anchor Bay's Precision Deinterlacing™. This reduces artifacts caused by poor deinterlacing.
Precision Deinterlacing™
- Converts 480i/576i to flicker-free progressive formats
- Arbitrary cadence detection (any-to-any) to detect non-standard cadences
- Five-field motion adaptive deinterlacing
- Edge-adaptive processing to produce smooth diagonal edges
- Three frame video processing delay
- Reliable 2:2 pull-down detection for 50Hz video standards
- Bad edit detection to minimize artifacts caused by sequence breaks in film content
- Detection of multiple source types within a frame — for example video titles over film
- Detection of 2:2 to/from 3:2 crossfades and out of phase 3:2 crossfades
- Low latency mode for gaming applications
